Profiles & Identity

All PrepNY users have profiles allowing individuals to showcase their unique identities. Profiles are designed for specific demographics, from alumni, to students, to faculty, to parents. Individual users can differentiate what information they choose to share publicly on their profile, including: resumes, interests, work history and photos.

Each PrepNY network also allows users or school administrators to create affinity groups. Group creators then have the ability to assign unique access parameters for their group. Using advanced search features, PrepNY proactively matches (recommends) intra-network connections based on career similarities or any allowable search field.

Collaboration & Group Management

PrepNY's group system enables advanced collaboration and communication among subsets of users. Alumni or students can manage projects by centralizing conversations, using shared calendars and exchanging resources or media. For example, sports teams can manage schedules, teachers can post class notes and faculty can have private on-going dialogues to discuss key issues.

Education is increasingly collaborative, mimicking the changes that are taking place in the working world. PrepNY groups allow users to aggregate conversations and schedules all in one place. Content & Data – PrepNY is a hosted network operating on state-of-the-art security enhanced servers. Only registered and verified community members can participate in the PrepNY community. All servers are fully redundant. Upon request schools can order back-ups of their entire community on several types of hard media.

Public Relations – PrepNY takes a proactive approach to protecting a school’s primary asset: its brand. Not providing students with an outlet for online interactions means students will do it elsewhere. Schools that fail to provide students and alumni with an online community experience outside of Facebook and Myspace effectively endorse the use of these third party websites. Crisis Communication
